If you have full control over your organization’s Meta Business Portfolio, you can add partners — such as an agency or consultant — directly through Meta Business Suite or Business Portfolio.
You can do this in two ways:
Grant a partner access to your organization’s business assets (like a Facebook Page or ad account), or
Request access from a partner to share their business assets with your organization.
You can change someone’s access or remove a partner from your portfolio at any time.
Before you start
There are a few important conditions before adding partners:
You must have full control over your organization’s Business Portfolio.
Your partner must also have a Business Portfolio in Meta Business Suite.
You need your partner’s Business ID (found in their portfolio settings).
Make sure two-factor authentication is enabled for your Business Portfolio.
About access levels:
You can give partners full control or partial access to your assets.
With full control, the partner can manage everything within those assets — but they cannot share the asset with another business. Only the organization that owns an asset can share it with another Business Portfolio.
With partial access, partners can perform specific tasks such as:
Creating or managing content
Managing ads
Responding to messages or comments
This setup keeps your portfolio secure and limits access to what’s necessary.
Note: If you request a partner to share their assets with you, only someone with full control over the partner’s Business Portfolio can approve the request. That person might also need financial access, depending on which permissions are being shared.
How to give a partner access to your business assets
Go to Settings in Meta Business Suite for your organization’s Business Portfolio.
Click Partners under the Users section in the left-hand menu.
If you don’t see Partners, you likely don’t have full control over the Business Portfolio. Only users with full control can share assets with partners.
Click Add and select Give a partner access to your business assets.
Enter your partner’s Business ID and click Next.
If you don’t know the ID, ask your partner. It’s listed in Settings → Business Info within their Meta Business Suite.
Choose which assets you want to share and select the access level (full or partial).
For partial access, select the specific tasks you want your partner to handle.
Click Assign assets.
Depending on your organization’s setup, another person with full control may need to approve this action before it becomes active.
Once shared, both you and your partner can view the shared assets under Settings → Partners in your respective Business Portfolios.
Important note:
If you grant a partner partial access to an asset, they can only assign those same permissions to people within their own portfolio. They cannot expand the access beyond the tasks you defined.
How to request a partner to share their assets with your organization
Go to Settings in Meta Business Suite for your Business Portfolio.
Click Partners under the Users section in the left-hand menu.
If you don’t see Partners, it means you don’t have full control. Only users with full control can request asset sharing.
Click Add, then select Request your partner to share assets with you.
Review the information and click Get started.
Enter your partner’s email address and Business Portfolio ID.
If you don’t know the ID, ask your partner to find it under Settings → Business Info in their Meta Business Suite.
Select your organization’s role and your partner’s role, then click Next.
Choose the types of assets and permissions you want to request access to.
When your partner receives the request, they’ll select which specific assets and permissions to share.
Click Next, review the details carefully, then click Send request.
Your partner can:
Approve the request,
Decline it, or
Modify which assets and permissions will be shared.
Once your partner takes action, you’ll receive a notification in Meta Business Suite.
You can always check the status of your request — or cancel it — by going to the Partners tab under Settings in your Business Portfolio.
Why it matters
Adding partners allows you to collaborate securely with agencies, consultants, or other businesses — without giving away full ownership. It keeps asset sharing organized, controlled, and fully transparent.
That means your team and your partners can work together easily while you stay in full control of your business portfolio.
